The Laser Pals
Left to Right: Bernie Bird, Robert Garofalo, Laser Cat, Granite Dog, Jack Mahin, and Sparky Horse

Our Story
Life, Love and Laser Etching

OK, so making artwork appear magically on stone takes more than a cat with a Magic Claw - even a very smart cat. Partners Robert Garofalo and Jack Mahin started Laser Pals in 2007 with a mutual love for high technology, beautiful artwork ... and animals.

Robert and Jack really enjoy the happiness their laser etchings bring to people who love their creatures as much as they do - people like you.

If you have any special requests or questions, please feel free to phone or email Robert and Jack. They'll be glad to help. You never know, maybe Laser Cat will answer the phone.

The Laser Pals are the creation of cartoonist Terri J. Garofalo.

Co-owners Robert Garofalo and Jack Mahin went to close up shop one evening when all of a sudden ... ZOOOOOOOMMMM!!! Something careened through the joint and clattered off through the garbage cans ...

They scanned the cans and came up with nothing. The idea that Tasmanian Devils or other noxious creatures were lurking in the bins didn't thrill either one of them. Drastic measures had to be taken ...

Laser Pals Story

So, they set off for the local animal shelter to adopt a ferocious guard dog. Rob took a liking to a big brown dog that looked scary enough to frighten old socks. They named him Granite in the hopes of toughening up the lovable pooch's self image.

Granite turned out to be more helpful at eating everyone's lunch. He was also in the habit of letting in animals who needed shelter, such as mice and a bird named Bernie. While annoyed with the extra mice and missing lunch, Rob kind of liked the bird who was a good can-opener.

Laser Pals Story

Still a mystery, the garbage bin bandit remained just that. Even with his keen sense of smell, Granite couldn't track anything that fast. One night while donning his pair of night vision binoculars, he spotted the culprit... an orange tabby explosion!

Granite suddenly noticed graffiti on the door. The cat had left her mark! Rob had heard the commotion and stuck his head out for a peek only to discover the scene of the crime. He was not amused...

Rob handed Granite the scrubber and set him to work. Try as he might the mark wouldn't budge. He realized that it was etched permanently in the door for good. The only way to resolve this was to change the company logo to Laser Pals.

Once again Granite was on security duty to prosecute the precocious pussycat. Once again, he was duped. This time four characters were etched above the logo. Granite recognized himself, Bernie the bird and Sparky the horse... And, there was the cat!

Laser Pals Story

Rob freaked out. Was he supposed to go into the etching business? Jack thought that was a snazzy idea. He offered the cat a job. Of course, she accepted. And, Laser Cat officially joined Laser Pals right there. Yes, Rob got over himself and Granite was forgiven.

And so, Laser Pals was born to provide custom etching on stone for everyone! Rob and Jack were psyched to have such a talented workforce dedicated to customer service. Laser Cat's talents were now available to the world for the enjoyment of all.
